BIOGRAPHY
Whether it's television or radio commercials, narrations for audiobooks, textbooks, multimedia, interactive, film, or IVR prompts for telephone applications for major American companies, Karen has voiced projects for high profile clients around the globe. Karen began her voiceover career many years ago at a rock 'n roll radio station in Portland, Maine. After stints in other Maine radio markets, Karen headed back to her roots in Massachusetts, where she continued her radio career. However, this time it took a different tack. Karen became a Creative Director, writing and producing commercials for an AM/FM combo, a job she loved. It also was a great training ground for the versatility for which she's known today. Plus, Karen was able to secure many opportunities for freelance voice work through her new position. She then moved on to Boston radio.
In 1991, Karen became a booth announcer for WLVI-TV56 in Boston, a major coup, since quite a few voiceovers as well as radio and television talent had auditioned for the job. After a few years of working in Boston television and radio, Karen decided to head out on her own.
In 1994 Karen became a full time, freelance voiceover talent, and in the years following saw her business grow dramatically. Producers particularly like her low error rate and her ability to cold read even the most technical copy. Because of her amazing ability, she has been tapped to narrate over 100 audiobooks to date.
Karen has a state-of-the-art digital Source Connect Pro studio and can offer audio in any format, uploaded to her website for easy download by clients. Her Source Connect Pro broadband softwares allow her to work in real time for live, remote sessions around the world.
